I need to obtain a double entry tourist visa.

The last few years I've been on a non immigrant type "O" obtained in the UK, I do my normal visa runs myself to Cambodia, so don't have any experience with the visa companies.

For this trip though seems to make sense to go with a visa company.

The trip I am contemplating is to Cambodia, Poipet, have to spend 1 night at the border "Tropicana casino" and they run your Passport to Pnom Pen.

7000B all in, this is a price quoted by a company on soi bukow but cant remember their name opposite the back entrance to pattaya new plaza.

Can anyone recommend a particular Visa company or give any reports on doing a similar trip.

its really 2 nights and its a miserable trip, poipet is terrible. i tried going out for some fun and its dead, everything closed up or empty,

6 months ago i had a blast there, its like the town just died. the touts are complete scum now, stear clear. before never bothered by them at night

next trip i will fly to phnom penh for a vacation and they will have someone pick up and process my visa for 2000bt

cambo inter did a great job though

i had it all explained to me yesterday

most of it is lies as usual in that a double means 2 months -----------------thats it then 1900 baht at immigration for another month

then i was told another trip to cambodia but a day trip to get 2 more months then a 1900 at the immi so a total of 6 months

then i had a phone call saying the thai embasssy in p / phen is closed for a month

any comments lads / lasses

Why do you have to pay 2000 baht for a free visa?

Fly to PP with Air Asia from the 1st to the 3th for 6300 baht inclusive of all taxes and visa charges.

Do they give multiple entry visas in PP? I thought only Vientiane did so in that region.

What part did you consider a lie? The normal process with a double entry Tourist Visa is just as you described. Enter on first entry, receive a stay fo 60 days, pay 1900 Baht for the 30 day extension, make a border run, re-enter before the visa expiration date and receive the second 60 day entry which also can be extended 30 days for 1900 Baht.

I don't know about the Consulate being closed a month, but likely to be closed a few days because of the holidays.

i tried the pp thai embasssy before and impossible to get a double enrty visa

has that changed?

I'm sure the question posed on the right thread will reveal the answer. I'm thinking that Vientiane is his probable destination.

I think you can get a double entry at Cambodia.

The visa company I spoke to also said so.

The trip I was offered was 1 night at the Tropicana although 2 days arrive 9am leave 6pm the next day.

Will check out Cambodia inter 5600B sounds better.

Guess all there is to do there is gamble and hole up in your room.

Did you stay at the tropicana? Rooms OK? Food?

Bit of a worry if they are closed for a month gotta be out by 20th Dec

Also SGH bit confused did you get a double entry when you went 6 weeks ago.

you will definitely get a double entry thru the tour group as they have the connections. i tried walking into the pp embassy on my own

and they said no way. outside the embassy there was some sketchy looking guy that said he could do it but i declined.

the tropicana is ok. when i went to poipet 6 months ago i had a great time, girls, beers etc. this trip all those places were closed,

i searched around for a few hours and gave up and the touts were following me everywhere driving me nuts. i couldnt shake em,

i even tried ditch running thru some back streets

every shop sign says double entry 180 days-----so what are they saying-------------well some lie and say double entry 180 days for 7500 baht which clearly is wrong

just paid 18000 for a retirement visa-----------not enough money here or uk bank accounts so cheaper than the 4 border runs to get the so called double entry 180 days

Went to Cambodia Inter today.

They quoted 5800B still better than the 7000B quoted elsewhere, guess it's all the same trip in the same minibus anyway.

Booked with them for the 20th, they said 100% double entry.

Will try and find some fun in Piopet night time, otherwise it's just the Casino I guess.

Making your own way to Vientiane would have been cheaper. Perhaps 3000 baht in all including accommodation. Though of course a much longer journey.
