I got a brand new Lumix FZ10. Even with 2 different batteries I get only a few shots, i.e the battery is not the problem.

Yes , GPS is switched off, screen saver is on. It seems the discharging occurs although the camera is fully shut down.

The only way is to take the battery out of the camera. Not ideal for quick shots.

Someone else has the FZ18 and tells about the same problem.

i would just return it...Such behaviour is simply not acceptable or expected in a new camera...or any electrical device in this day & age!

Sounds like it has an internal short circuit...

That may be a problem,

if you travel a lot it is worth looking for an international guarantee.

FZ10 or FZ100 or TZ10? The FZ10 is several years old..

I have the FZ18 and whilst battery life isn't great, you can normally get a few hours shooting on a charge.
