Court has ruled that old law will b applied when offences r concerned, while new law when methods r concerned. /via@tulsathit

Major point, though, is the role of party registrar. The two laws have significant differences over it. /via@tulsathit

From the on-going ruling, court apparently gives much importance to authority of party registrar when it comes to filing for dissolution. /via@tulsathit

Deputy PM Blames Red and Yellow Shirts for Country's Problems

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban blamed the red- and yellow-shirt protesters for causing trouble in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said before attending a Democrat Party seminar in Chumphon province, that the red and yellow-shirt protesters are responsible for the problems in the country.

Suthep claims that the two groups have been inciting protests through their media outlets including television, radio and newspapers, which have hindered the country's development.

Suthep asked the party's local leaders and members at the seminar to remain confident, as the Democrat Party will continue to stand for the monarchy, democracy and against any coup attempts regardless of political ideology or religion.

ICT Ministry to buy first lot of 9 million smartcards for ID cards

The Information and Communications Technology Ministry will soon buy the first lot of 9 million smartcards for the Interior Ministry to use as identification cards, Interior Minister Chaovarat Chanweerakul said Monday.

Chaovarat said some 26 million smartcards are now needed to making ID cards for the Thai citizens but the ICT Ministry will buy the first lot of 9 million cards and had it over to the Provincial Administration Department for printing ID cards.

Two Thefts in Temples Reported

Two different thefts have been reported at temples in Phitsanulok and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces.

The first case involves three children who wanted to pay off gaming debts with the other took place at a deputy abbot's residence.

Security cameras at Chomthong Temple indicate that three children between the ages of five and ten broke into a cash donation box and made off with around 1,000 baht.

After being questioned, the children said they wanted the money to pay off a computer game related debt.

Police officers said the three young suspects are local residents and often play at the temple.

In a separate case, police in Nakhon Ratchasima province said a thief broke into the residence of the Phutsa temple's deputy abbot.

They said windows and doors were destroyed and that the room was littered with belongings scattered on the floor.

The deputy abbot said his mobile phones and almost 10,000 baht in cash were stolen.

He added that he assumes the thief is a man who is very familiar with the temple.
