bjhabal
A friend of mine with a wife (over 55) and 2 children (under 15) asked me about the bank deposit for a retirement visa, I knew that he has to deposit 800K in the bank for his visa, but what about the wife and children,? Dose he has to deposit 800k for each of them too? or 800k for the whole family.
Mario2008
Only he has to meet the money requirements. The wife and children can accompany as dependents and don't have to show money. The children can be a dependent till they turn 21, provided they live with their parents. If going to school they can also stay based on their education. Income requirement is: 800,000 in the bank in Thailand for 2 months (3 at the next extensions) OR an income of 65,000 a month OR a combination of yearly income and money in the bank totaling 800,000. lopburi3
Once husband has the retirement extension of stay the wife/children can easily obtain non immigrant O visa (if they do not already have) and obtain matching extensions of stay.
