Previously i have been using 1 year multi O based on being married to a Thai national, can someone advise on the following.

1. Can i arrive on a UK passport receive a 30 day stamp and continue to depart and return as many times as i wish, or is this method limited to a certin amount of 30 day stamps in one year ?.

2. If i need to stay more than 30 days, can i extend my stay based on my married status ?.

At present there is no limitation on the number of 30 day visa exempt stamps you can receive by air. The 60 day extension based on marriage can normally be done just one time a year, this depends on the immigration office.

The 60 day extension to visit wife/child has no limitation in law and is often available multi times per year under Police Order 777/2551. Prior to that it was listed as having a "one time" restriction but that was never defined so one year was often the policy (when available at all).

There is no official restriction on 30 day visa exempt entry but all such require funds and outbound ticket by law if they want to check. Also raises concern of illegal employment.

As you are married a multi entry non immigrant O visa would be available in KL with proof of 100k in bank account so if not able to meet one year extension of stay 400k/40k requirements that is often the second best choice.

Thanks for the detailed info, i am interested if i receive a 30 day stamp on arrival, and i need to stay longer due to the nature of my work outside Thailand, can i cross and return at the border and when my 15 days is almost complete go back and get another 15 days. Can this 15 day stamp be repeated several times if required.

Yes but after 3 or 4 they may start asking if you have employment in Thailand.

Would i be correct to say that using the following method no fees are involved

1. Enter Thailand by Air and receive a 30 Day stamp

2. After 30 days cross the border and return and receive a 15 day stamp, and then if required repeat a further 15 day stamp at the border.

3. Depart Thailand and repeat the steps 1 & 2

No that would not be correct at most places as for Laos or Cambodia you would require a visa and Burma would require a fee for entry stamp.
