Whenever I've been out shopping for a tie I've always been surprised by how much ties cost. Especially compared to shirts.

In Paragon or Central a basic shirt generally costs less than 1000 baht but a neck tie usually costs around 1500 to 2000 baht!

In England you can get a basic tie for about 500 - 1000 baht. Obviously you can pay more than that.

I know you can get the cruddy 100 baht ones off the market but they are pretty bad. I don't want anything fancy, just a one colour but of a nice-ish material.

So my question is: where are the standard, reasonable priced ties in Bangkok?

Thanks.

There are some neck ties in the 60 baht store in the basement of Future Park Rangsit.

Not surprisingly, they cost...wait for it...60 baht. That cheap enough for you?

Ties are a total rip off price wise. But oddly, if I really like a tie (to me) I think it is worth it to get one you really like. Because, for a gentlemen, your tie is one of the few ways you can express your individual tastes when in formal wear.

But to answer your question, there is a very nice small shop that only sell ties on the first floor of MBK. Most of MBK there are two long rows but the place this tie shop is in a "middle" row. They have a very large selection of ties at good prices

He doesn't want really cheap, just something half decent. Re-read the post.
