Halal Food On Koh Tao?

Featured Replies

I have a friend who want to take PADI training on Koh Tao. She is Muslim and requires halal or vegetarian food. Is that available on Koh Tao? If so, do you know where?

Thank you.

There is plenty of vegitarian options in the resturants on Tao.

So shouldnt be a problem for your friend.

As for previous comment very helpful, you ever seen a regular slaughter house or chicken farm ? there not to humane either trust me I have worked at both as a teenager.

Still love my sausage and egg rolls though !

One inflammatory post removed from view please respect other peoples beliefs.

Would eating Veggetarian Food actually not be an option, on an Island with a variety of Restaraunts anyway ??

In Koh Phangan, mostly around Bantai, there are some Thai Muslim restaurant and stall selling Halal food.

In Koh Phangan there are many diving centers that offer PADI-SSI courses.

Thank you for the good information. I will relay it to my friend.

Just for the benefit of other Muslims visiting the islands, according to the Muslim lady that works in the veggy department at, Tesco Chawang, the meat sold at Tesco, Makro & Big C is "Halal" Also since, confirmed by some other local Muslims I know ....

I went through this when having a Muslim friend visit last year.... Samui has a reasonable sized Muslim population, therefore it not that hard to find Halal food, especially on the south side of the Island & Nanthon, also at the market in Bopout, heading towards the Big Buddha...... From what I understand, most of the fishermen on Samui, are Muslim... & probably around Ban Tai on Koh Phengan....

But I am not sure about Koa Toa (I have been hesitating to add a reply here) There are no major stores like Tesco on Koh Toa, but if there are muslims there then will be Halal food will be available.... just ask a Muslim!
