I'm very sure the hugely experienced members here will be able to answer these questions in a trice. I have searched but not managed to find definitive answers.

I'm about to apply for my first 1 year Non Imm O extension on grounds of retirement (800000B in bank for two months version).

I've read up on which documents I need and think I have the list OK. I just wanted to clarify a couple of points.

1. The bank letter has to certify my account is above 800000B, but I read in previous years that it also has to say that the money came from abroad and some posts even mention a Tor Tor 3 foreign exchange or transfer certificate being necessary. As I haven't seen this mentioned recently, is it fair to assume that this requirement no longer holds, I shouldn't worry, just get a letter certifying the amount in my account? [Will the bank (Kasikorn) know what wording to use or should I bring them an example?]

2. I read somewhere that immigration ask for two copies of everything, ie bring two complete TM7s with two photos, as well as two copies of all relevant passport, passbook pages and the bank letter itself. Is this true? Should I hand in essentially two complete separate sets of application documents? I can easily of course, but I thought this sounded a bit odd?

Thanks in advance!

1. Letter from bank stating the balance. No need for the other items you mentioned.

Updated bank book showing the same balance..

2. Signed Copies of everything. Maybe one or two. If you are missing any they will usually do it for you for a small fee.

3. Many Immigration Offices now like you to take proof of address as you have to apply in the area you live.

I've had letters from two different kasikorn banks, both times they knew what I wanted and immigration had no problems. I learned that the word 'visa' does not mean much to the bank people, but 'immigration letter' was recognized immediately. Hua Hin immigration wanted a letter dated the same day I applied for the extension. Also asked fro proof of address, accepted a copy of my lease.
