Did I Have A Virus Or Was My Facebook Account Hacked?

Featured Replies

I've been having some strange problems lately. Using Firefox (IE also) under Windows 7, I would attempt to open a Facebook.com tab but would be redirected to 'Lundbladh.com' site. I would be unable to open Facebook despite virus scans (McAfee), reboots, etc. I was forced to restore from a previous system backup. Then all was ok for a few days, then the same thing happened again.

Anybody ever had something similar happen? I Googled and found the following article:

DNS clear procedure: http://www.tech-reci...ns_cache_flush/

Evidently my DNS cache was in fact corrupted somehow, because when I cleared the cache the condition was remedied.

My guess is one of the opinions in a previous link about this being either a virus or malware are incorrect and that I actually was the victim of a hacker. Does anybody know if a hack or hijacking can be confirmed somehow as having occurred so I can rule out a virus?

I am also wondering, actually expecting, this to happen again since it has happened about four times already, and if so is there somehow I can close the hack entry point? According to my searches, this condition only occurs when using (or trying to use) Facebook so the entry is probably there through my account. I noticed the Lundbladh redirection was reported as far back as in 2008. Also, it turns out Michael Lundbladh is or was a systems security expert so he likely possesses the knowledge to be the hacker. Perhaps the redirection was him leaving a 'calling card', showing off his success in hacking into my operating system?

Any thoughts, comments, advice or similar experience in being either hacked or infected by a similar nasty virus?

Looking forward to hearing your replies guys.

FB does have issues for sure. I logged onto my account the other day and the next thing you know I am on some thai persons page as if I logged in as them.

Yes it appears facebook is having some security issues. The last few days I have been getting spammed from an email disguised as a one of my facebook friends, i.e. the email is originating from inside facebook.

Ya have to be careful with all those social sites.
