Tourist Visa To Oz For Mother & Brother Inlaw

Featured Replies

My wife would like to bring her mother and brother to australia for a weeks holiday , would appreciate any advice on applying for a tourist visa .

Her mother is about 65 and brother will be accompanying her .

I am wanting to know the best way to approach getting a visa for them ,

Her brother works selling things in market (a family buisness) so cant get a letter from an employer and bank Acc wouldnt have much money

My wife and myself will be paying for the trip .

Should i get an agent to do the application ?

Do we try to do ourselves ?

Appreciate any advice

Regards

You can do it yourselves or use an agent, up to you.

You may find the mother may need a medical check so allow extra time for that.

Write a letter of support detailing the financial support being offered and the purpose of the visit.

Provide proof of actually knowing them both.

Proof of your income.

Would suggest they/you make a fairly detailed application.

Hi ronniem,

If your wife has obtained permanent residence you can apply via a Sponsored Family Visitor visa. However, this is more complex than a Tourist visa and I would recommend the Tourist visa.

No-one will need any medical tests or examinations unless any special significance requirements apply - even if this is the case a chest x-ray would be the most anyone would have to obtain.

I would agree with gburns57au and prepare a fairly detailed application if you are going to try to do it yourself. You will need to demonstrate that they are genuine visitors and that there are adequate financial provision for their stay. I would include fair bit of documentation.

As you may know, it would be two separate applications unless the brother is included in the mothers passport.
