Many thanks to those that answered my previous questions; now I have a couple more :-)

I am currently on a 60 day extension of my Non-O based on a Thai child, this expires on 11 Feb

I do not start my new employment until 1st May.

Is it possible for my new employer to start the ball rolling on changing my extension to a Non-B and then applying for the work permit

this early ?

The reason being that it would save the cost of having to go and get another Non-O/B from a nearby country.

Many thanks

You do not qualify for any extension of stay without meeting the conditions and that would seem to include a salary and work permit unless you have options other than work, such as custody and full time care of child. Even with work extension may not be available if salary does not qualify or company is new.
