Simple Removal Of Hard Skin From Feet

I do not want a foot scrub, but someone who can remove hard skin professionally. I realise there aren't many (if any) small chiropody specialists here who aren't part of a hospital, but would appreciate it if anyone has experience of someone in Bangkok. I have heard that foot massage shops *can* do this, but I'm not looking for anecdotal information - I'm hoping there is a shop of some kind which carries out chiropody properly.

The only chiropodist I've found here is Doctor Cherdpong at Samitivej, but I'm not willing to pay all the hospital fees and nurse's fees etc. for what is essentially a simple removal of hard skin from feet from time to time. They treat it like a medical condition, when in the developed world, it's just a normal part of looking after one's body.

Each time I visited Samitivej some years ago, they tried to sell me special shoes or have special insoles fitted into my shoes. This was just because every so often I like to have hard skin removed LOL.

Thanks.

I expect if you go to a hospital they would treat it as a medical condition by default. I suspect any beauty shop could help.

Pumice type foot scrapers are available at any drug store and believe Lotus. Use with moisturizer for a few days should get most of it.

Pick up a cream at the pharmacy called Dermovate. Read up on the internet. It is used for this purpose. It dissolves dead skin, especially good for people with a persistent skin condition. Best to cover the area to keep it moist for the cream to work most effectively.

I have this problem also, together with cracked heels. Don't know about dermovate but sounds good. The best one I have found here is a Scholl cream for hard skin and cracked heels, available anywhere they sell Scholl shoes, works really well in 3 days. When I can, I go to a good massage centre in Bangkok - Spa 24 next to the Emporium in soi 24. They are the best trained and professional in Thailand. There are some excellent Oz creams based on lanolin but you need to find an Australian coming here. Sometimes they are in the duty free chemists at airports. Cheers.

This sounds ideal for what I'm looking for. Many thanks indeed Khun Thaipod. I will try contacting them in the next few days and report back!
