fred110
I have Windows XP on my laptop. I installed an IRDA and driver. I turn my Nokia 6610 to Infrared and I get a connection briefly, tyhen it says my phone has moved out of range or is turned off. The it connects again for a few seconds, and drops again. Keeps doing this by itself. Any ideas? I just went and updated my OS online, the IRDA shows up in Windows as working. Maybe XP needs another fix? Crushdepth
It might actually be your phone - the Nokia IR drivers are pretty crap (you wouldn't happen to be trying to sync with PC Suite would you? It's a very broken piece of software). Can you connect other IR devices to your laptop ?

I have no other IR devices. Thanks.
coldcrush
I found with Nokia the same, unreliable infared. However try and move onto bluetooth, a much better and faster transfer,

Crushdepth
While I can't get my phone to connect to PC Suite via infrared, it works just fine with any other application - including as a modem
Joey Boy
you need to turn the data rate and the accepted response latency down, I had the same problem with a nokia and the IRda cable.. These other apps which you have working maybe alter the windows settings for you Its a common problem with Nokia I think..
