Wikitravel On Phuket

Featured Replies

Someone put a LOT of time into that web page.

It has the most substantial amount of info I've seen on the island of Phuket.

If you're looking for something to be pointed out that is missing? Perhaps the meaning of the word Phuket.

I believe it comes from a Malay word meaning mountain (Bukit or something like that)

Good job, (whoever made it. )

Good job, (whoever made it. )

I'll second that.

A pity about the photo of Patong beach, though (the southern end, looking like a distant relative of Rawai Beach) - rather misleading.

There doesn't seem to be any mention of the topography of the island.

Hills/mountains and the various jungle activities (treking, elephants, etc) arn't there.

^And there are quite a few factual errors as well (and what's with some of those paragraph headings?), but it could be the basis for a good article with a little research and more meat on the bones.
