I have misunderstood the 90-day reporting requirements for a retirement visa extension. I thought it only applied to the 'married visa' type. I am on a full 800k retirement visa & live in Bangkok.

My problem is that I didn't do any 90-day reporting during 2010 for my previous visa extension which I obtained in December 2009 (nor any from extensions prior to that). I obtained my latest extension in December 2010 and absolutely nothing was mentioned about my oversight & it was only after that I noticed the visa extension stamp included the 90-day reporting requirement.

One reason that the immigration officer may have not checked this is that I had another problem with my TM6 & it took some time to sort it out because they couldn't find my file & had to attach a blank form with some Thai writing on it as a replacement. Also, is there a linkage between the 90-day reporting and the granting of the retirement visa extension?

On the face of it, should i just carry on & do my first 90-day report in March & which would be safer - Chang Wattana or Chamchuri Sq? I'd welcome any advice on possible repercussions and opinions on my suggested action.

I would just do you report in March and dont say anything, if they were going to pick up up on it, would suggest they would have done so in Dec 2010 when you renewed your extension, if for some reason they spring you, just pay the fine, most time they hit you for THB 2000
