Leaving Thailand With A Work Permit And 1 Year Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

Could you please help me with this guys need an answer pretty quick.Thank you :-)

I'm a 36 year old British national working as a teacher. I have a work permit and a 1 year visa.I would like to go to Laos with a friend for 2 days and was wondering what I need to do before I go regards my visa.

Do I need a special permit or something so not to void my visa?

Could you please tell me the procedure for leaving Thailand when you have a work permit and 1 year visa.

Thanks in advance

Garry

Depends on what you are calling a one year visa. If you have a one year Multi-entry Visa, and are stamped permitted to stay for 90 days at a time, you just exit and return.

If you have a one year "Extension of Stay" based on your work and are doing address reports every 90 days rather than leaving the country, you will need a re-entry permit to keep your permission to stay valid. a single entry is 1000 Baht, and a multi-entry 3800 Baht, obtained at your local immigration office.

My visa is an "Extension of stay" like you said.

Can I get the re-entry permit sorted out at the immigration in Nong Khai before going into Laos or do I have to go to my local one in Lopburi first.

What sort of paper work is needed? Can it be done online?
