Hau Hinn To Phuket, How Many Hours Drive ?

i will be in bkk in march but i have a friend coming to phuket for 2 weeks, so i want to get down there and spend some time with him , anyway i will leave pattaya or bkk and drive down to hau hinn and stay there for 1 night, then leave the next morning at around 6am , how many hours from hau hinn to phuket ? if it is too long i may make another stop somewhere , but where ? someplace nice with a bit of nightlife and a decent beach so where do you recommend, if theres nowhere decent along the way i will just make the one journey down to phuket non stop.

also, i will more than likely be in pattaya most of the time before i head for phuket and want to ask, is it possible to take a car onto the new boat route / ferry from pattaya to hau hinn, would it be a faster journey for me the wife and kid ? how much would it be for the 3 of us and a car ( pickup ) ?

If you drive a safe speed, it is an 8-9 hour drive. Sorrry but, I can't help with your other questions.
