Day Pass To Burma

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is the right place for this but here we go. Many years ago when I lived in Ranong I was doing visa runs over to Victoria Point / Kawthaung in Burma. At that time it was 5$ for a foreigner to go for a day. It then changed a bit to 5$ for a two nights or something like that , and the last time I went which was about six years ago it was 10$ for three days and Thais went for 50 baht with their ID card and a photo. Me and the family are going back down there in a couple of months so I was just wondering if anyone knows the requirements now for Thais. Is it still 50 baht for Thais ? do children have to pay ? Does it cost more going on a passport than with the ID card ? Also going to Koh Payam while we are there ( not been there for years ) to see my mate Richard. He's a pretty funny guy and anyone who's been to Payam would probably have come across him so wondering if anyone knows what's going on in Payam these days ?

I was there about two years ago. They charged me $10, but that was on a Visa run. My Thai lady was about 200 baht, and we used her ID card. We got a boat near the fish landing jetty just up from the Immigration office. There are still 1000,000 people who try and get you to use there services. Wait till you actually get to the Jetty there are more boats and better prices to be had. the place is quite scary now take care.best of luck .
