SunDaRi
Is the Aranya border closed? I hope not.. My visa expires this week and I need to do a run. I heard from someone that it'll be closed till Monday.
Mario2008
Borders are normally not closed. Only immigration offices and consulates and such are closed on government holidays and during the weekends.
lopburi3
Believe post was in response to a threat to close Arun check point because of the border sign/yellow shirt issue. The sign was removed so it should not be an issue.
SantiSuk
According to Thai Asean Network (Thai news in English TV) the Choam Sa N'gam border (Si Saket province) - the nearest active border to the Pra Wihaar temple and some disputed border land - was reopened 2 days ago after a few days closure. I had not heard of any other border closures and nor have I since. The whole Cambodia issue is being covered extensively by TAN and I watch it daily. IMO it is 99% likely that the Poipet (Aranyapratet) border is open as normal. Keep your eyes on the news though - if the spat were to take a serious turn for the worse borders could possibly be closed by either side. I think it unlikely but not impossible. purelily
The Poipet (Aranyapratet) border is open but the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh will not issue any Thai tourist visas until next week.
Thanyaburi Mac
The border crossing at Aran-Poipet was open yesterday, an American friend crossed there via his motorcycle enroute to Siem Reap. FYI, he lives in C. Mai, so to save part of the ride on Thai highways, shipped his bike via rail to Lop Buri while he rode in A/C comfort.
