Thai For Beginners By Benjawan Poomsan Becker

Featured Replies

Greetings!

Me and my boyfriend are finally starting our thai language lessons (wheee!). Our teacher said that she is going to use a book called "Thai for beginners" by Benjawan Poomsan Becker. Would anyone happen to have a used book for sale? (we need 2 books)

Thank you :)

Have one somewhere here but dont want to let it go..

DCOThai will have it to you in a day or two by mail.

I've got one I'd be willing to sell. You can easily (and cheaply) get the book you buy copied at a copy shop.

Send me a pm if you are still looking for a copy.

1) I would suggest getting it new (with the CD's). It is a pretty decent book and the author deserves the royalties.

2) I have seen copies show up at Gecko on occasion.

I think you should finish your English lessons first, before you tackle Thai

That should be "My boyfriend & I "

Get new copies of the book as they come with CD and are fantastic. Available in all big book shops in Chiang Mai

Getting back to the point of the original post, all the Becker Thai language books are worth buying.

But which English language lessons?

English, American, Australian, New Zealand, Canadian, Hong Kong, Singaporean, Indian English?

Perhaps you should clarify first before commenting.

Can you speak, read and write fluent Thai?

Kudos to the lady for trying to use the English skills she has already.

Grammar superstars are not necessarily required on Thai Visa.

Spellcheck is in American but I am English and it makes many grammar mistakes in my English language.

a friend of mine is a retired English teacher.

He maintains that studies have shown the only use teaching grammar is good for is to make the teacher some money.:cheesy:

Just look around the world and you will notice many differences in many languages. Even in English each country can have little differences.

nani,

I want to keep mine too! Looks as if the best thing to do is contact keo and then follow his advice.
