National Disaster Warning Center to raise awareness of disasters among citizens

KANJANABUREE, 30 January 2011 (NNT)-The National Disaster Warning Center has recently organized a seminar on disaster awareness to members of VolunteerSpirit Organization as well as the Public Relations Department and other related government organizations across the country in Kanjanaburee province.

The Seminar focused on increasing the participation level of agencies that are directly responsible for national security and educating people on how they can prepare themselves against the natural disasters.The National Disaster Warning Centre has also introduced the use of IT system in raising the alarm and analyzing earth movements.

The Center also emphasized the importance of survival skills for residents living in disaster-prone areas. Dissiminating information through public services such as radio is cited as very important in raising disaster awareness.
