Black List

Featured Replies

Hello ,

Just wondering about black list and what is one has to do to have a black list forced on him or her, and does the person reporting a reason for the black list to at least be able show that it is real .

Cheers

Re-typed the OP's post into normal script.

Please no capitals when writing.

Blacklisted for what? You must have done something here to be blacklisted. Have you been to the Criminal court or been apprehended for something.

The forum is about details, details and more details, if you want help then give some.

Only the government can add someone to the blacklist from what I understand and this will happen after they have served a prison sentence and been released / deported. A recent example being some woman who smuggled drugs who was subsequently released from prison. She returned to Thailand only to find out she was in fact on the shitlist and then deported.

There is no local PNG office you can pop into or no 'hotline' to phone up and have someone blacklisted.

Why would any normal person want this : Did one of your school friends annoy you or something ?

A person is black listed as a result of a conviction, or if there is reason to suspect that a person is a danger to the state security or general public.

Hello ,

The reason i asked the question is that a friend of mine recently had a problem with a hotel in Thailand , even though he offered to pay the bill for the room in part they wanted the payment for one month but he only stayed 9 days because after a small argument the hotel told him to leave , but now they are saying there going to black list him and he is worried he will get arrested if he comes back into Thailand .

Cheers .

.

Being blacklisted would mean that he would not be allowed entry into Thailand. In the situation you describe, the hotel would not be able to get him blacklisted. But if the hotel files a case against him and if a court issues an arrest warrant, he will be arrested on his arrival, brought to court, and the judge will decide whether to release him on bail until the court hearing, which may be several weeks or months later.

Thanks Maestro for the reply , i think i will advise him to forget about it or if the hotel excepts payment for 9 0r 10 days then pay it ,

one question though if he decided to go back to Thai this year or next year where would he be able to confirm if action was taken against him or not ?

Cheers .

Get your friend to apply for a visa before he comes and that should pick up any problems before he arrives ?

From another thread, I believe that hotels in the case of non-payment have the option to inform immigration. One is than not allowed to leave the country till the bill has been paid.

Our member simon47 has more knowledge about this.

sounds like they are only 'blacklisting' him from their hotel..

From what I remember about that thread it only happened due to him personally knowing the immigration people at the airport.

I believe someone accused him of abusing his position as a tourist police volunteer. in his response to that he made it clear it had nothing to do with that, it simply is the law that owners of a hotel can stop a person leaving the country and do not need a court order.

Good advice Mario as always. It may also be possible that the hotel knew he was a Tourist Police Volunteer and the hotel made a report against him for abusing his position. The fact is that the Tourist Police Volunteers have no authority whatsoever

I believe consulates would not know about an arrest warrant.
