bangkokcitylimits
From the Narawat bridge (end of Tappa road) on the road to the railway station (and Bosang etc), but somewhere halfway before the station on the left side there's a good screw shop. It's a wider shop and you can see different counters from the streetside.
jackr
Could try Amorn, who have various electronics bits n pieces and perhaps instrument head screws and the like. The main one's on the outer north moat road by Computer Plaza. Believe there's also one within Carrefour. Failing that, have a drive around (esp north moat road) as there's loads of handyman places with odds n sods.
hanuman1
There's also an Amorn in BigC, HangDong Rd, if that's any easier for you to get to.

Patakarn Fasteners LTD, 153 Charoenmuang Rd, Watket, Chiang Mai 053302262 0818859231 It is the best nuts, bolts and screws shop in the city, with helpful and knowledgeable staff. If they don't have what you need, they will likely be able to order it for you. If you re driving from Nawarat Bridge towards the Superhighway/train station, it's on the left before the first set of traffic lights, opposite the Grung Thai Bank. The manager speaks good English. This place is a good bet, but I don't know if they have the really tiny stuff. I doubt that Amorn will be useful - maybe in their service department... Depending how small you need, maybe check out an eye-glass place, or maybe the notebook repair place at Pantip plaza. Or someplace that sells old-style hi-fi gear (I am thinking phono-cartridge mounting hardware). There are some second hand markets that have lots of electronic junk - maybe you can scavenge something. And if you can't find anything, be creative! Glue guns are great. Or maybe epoxy and a piece of a paper-clip? Being Canadian, I immediately think 'duct tape' but this sounds too small for that!

Paagai
There's a good but well hidden electronic components shop in Chang Puek area that might help. For certain stuff it has a much better selection than Amorn. Driving North on Chang Puek Road take the soi on the left immediately before the Novotel/Tops Supermarket entrance. The Soi has a Chedi on the left hand side as you enter (and IIRC a bank on the near corner). Keep going past the Chedi and the store is on the left about 2/3 way down.
