manparis 0
I have a couple questions 1. According to the marriage visa requirements a bank account with 400k in thailand is required, should this bank account be in my name and/or my thai wife/partners name? 2. Secondly this visa requires Bank statements, taxation records and supporting papers that would showcase their financial resources are also required. Who do they mean when they refer to 'their' in this requirement? and how recent do these taxation records need to be?

gotlost 44
Money has to be in your name only and letter from bank., you would be pushing it if was 7 days. Keep the letter 3 days or less and you should have no problem. Edited February 2, 2011 by gotlost
sunholidaysun1 97
An up to date letter is required from a Thai bank to state you have at least 400k TBht in the account. Some say for 3 months prior to the application and some say 2 months. Go with 3 to be safe. Also, they ( immigration) will need the letter written in Thai AND bring a copy of your last page of transactions from your bank book. ALSO , take a photo or two of the wedding , eg , village from when ever you did that bit. If you did a photo of the Amphur signing and receipt of certificates of marriage , take that as well. Its a nightmare, good luck.
Lite Beer 9759
There is no such thing as a Marriage Visa. If you are talking a bout a 12 month extension based on being married to a Thai lady the bank account has to be in your name only. For first extension the money has to be in the bank for 2 months prior to application. Get a letter from the bank to verify the balance. Also needed is an updated bank book showing the same balance. If you provide the correct documentation it is all quite straight forward. Wife's house document and ID Card. Marriage Certificate. Maybe the Marriage Registry Entry. Photos of the both of you in and around the house. Bank documents. Passport size photo. 1,900 Baht fee. Take your Wife with you to be interviewed. You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp. Go back in a month to get the extension.

(Update passbook and get letter same day) Photos - Outside showing house number and inside home together.
yankee99 1686
Only curious? What is the point of the photos? Stand in front of your condo door or building so they can see your room number? Or inside your bedroom or kitchen? How can these photos be of any use? Or is this another TIT?

yankee99 1686
It proves you actually live there. I would think your visa stamps would show you live here. Or a lease agreement, chanote or something. I guess it is their system...Pictures are easy enough to take..
