Chiang Mai To Laos With Double Entry Visa

Featured Replies

Hello,we are total newbies at this. My wife and I both have American passports withdouble entry visas and have been living in Chiang Mai since December. When we landed in Bangkok they stamped our passports forFebruary 25. We plan to leaveThailand to return to the U.S. at the end of June. However, we want to travelto Laos this month, but we'll be returning to Chiang Mai from Laos before our expiration date of February25. If you can share with us how to make the most of eight days traveling to Luang Prabang and Vientiane and back to Chiang Mai including how to get stampedfor as much time as possible upon arrival back into Thailand, we would greatlyappreciate your advice. Thank you.

When you leave Thailand your permision to stay will end.

When you return your second entry will be used and you will get 60 days.

This can be extended at Immigration for a further 30 days.

After this you will need to visit a Thai Consul and apply for another Visa.

An alternative would be to extend your current entry for 30 days and get a Re Entry Permit from Immigration. This will keep your stay alive and will be honoured when you return.

Even this will probably leave you a few days short.
