A Somalian asylum seeker was given leave to stay in Britain and was overjoyed.

As he walked down the street he stopped the first person he met and said "I want to thank the British people for your kindness for letting me stay in your country"

The person replied "But I am not British - I am from Pakistan"

So the Somalian moved on and spotting someone else stopped them and said "I want to thank the British people for your kindness for letting me stay in your country"

The person replied "That is nice of you, but I am Albainian"

So the Somalian carried on walking until he met a third person, who he told "I want to thank the British people for your kindness for letting me stay in your country"

Offended, this person said "I am not British, I am from Turkey"

And so this went on, with the Somalian meeting a Lithuanian, a Kurd, a Kosovan and a Bulgarian.

Finally the he spotted a woman walking towards him and cautiously he asked "Excuse me, are you British?",

"No" replied the woman "I am Romanian"

"But where are all the British?" the Somalian cried

The woman looked at her watch and replied "At this time, they will all be at work"
