More tinkering for Govt House's feng shui

Government House's feng shui has been changed again amid protests from around the compound.

On Sunday evening, seven 1-metre-high tamarind trees in pots were placed near the seventh gate. About seven metres away, seven pots of allamanda (whose name in Thai means 'prosperous city') were also put in position.

Cabinet members use the gate to go in and out of the compound for their meetings every Tuesday.

Tamarind is believed to symbolise a powerful image.

While number seven is linked to loss, it also means wit and endurance.

However, the character of number seven at the gate has been changed from Arabic to Thai, which has a more friendly meaning.

Government House's feng shui has been changed many times under the Abhisit Vejjajiva government. PM's secretary-general Anchalee Vanich Tephabutra, who believes in the system of good and evil influences, let a feng shui master recommend the changes.

The image of a Happy Buddha was placed on the Thai Khu Fah building's deck over Abhisit's office, and stones were laid to decorate the building.

Palm trees with fan-shaped leaves were also placed in front of the building but later removed.

I don't believe that Feng Shui is going to fix the problems there. B)

For a country of Buddhists they sure follow some arcane primitive practices. Waiting for the chicken entrails to be cast across the ground with the used coffee grinds. Amazing (Primitive) Thailand

I asked my Thai lawyer if he knew what feng shui is and he didn't. Same every other Thai I know. All this BS is coming from the Chinese, who run the country.

Still better than painting the PM's office walls bright pink as done by a certain 1st lady not so long ago. :whistling:

Next time ask him if he knows Huang Jui.

Perhaps somebody would care to hang a gourd by the entrance to the disputed temple then we could all shake hands and get on with our lives.
