Why ซิงซิง (according to all the dictionaries I consulted) and not ซิง ๆ ?

Thanks

NG

I should mention the word (sounds like sing-sing) means "new", brand-new", "novel"

Either one is correct, it's originally a Chinese word with only 1 ซิง but later another ซิง was added to it and means new and high quality (much much better than new :D), ซิง also use as slang for a virgin :)

My wife is of the opinion that here is no 'mai yamok' because the un-reduplicated form (how's that for mangled non-sense?)which would be a simple ซิง does not exist (in Thai) therefore, it is not eligible for the 'mai yamok' treatment.
