Solar Shower - Thai Style

Featured Replies

Just something I threw together. :D

It comes in handy if you've got a place without a hot water shower and don't want to spend any money on the installation and increased electric bill:

Part 2 Ready.

Thanks to all who've watched. :)

JK,

Dude, you should take the time out to clean the shower area before worrying about the hot water system. laugh.gif

In my part of Thailand the water comes out of the shower hose, already pre-warmed, courtesy of dodgy plumbing and a water tank which sits above my roof. jap.gif

To be honest, easier just hanging up a bucket full of water.

I remember another thread, where the poster laid out a full roll of garden hose across his roof zig-zag fashion.

One end to the water supply, thus giving him x amount of meters of hot water after a few hours.

Then there was the beer bottle contraption - classic.

This one off topic (sorry couldnt resist):

Looks like an owl....... possibly going for a shower.

Think you may be correct Thaddeus.

And I am awarding you double points for an ingeniously back on topic answer. (very smart)

Trouble is buckets of water can fall down and spill everywhere, mine snapped the rope (the sun bleaches and weakens rope exposed to the sun) but it didn't spill any water. Getting thicker rope tomorrow...

JK,

Systems like yours dude have been commercially available for years and you can get them at any camping shop back home for a couple of dollars. Better still they come with a little shower rose at the bottom of them so you get a nice pleasant spray of water verses your hose type. Totally fantastic shower when out camping & ur right, sometimes with the sun at its peak the water gets really hot and could scauld.

Now get back to ur biking vids dude and stop messin around.
