In a dramatic move, former President Donald Trump has filed a libel lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal and its reporters regarding a controversial article. The piece claims Trump was among the individuals who wrote letters to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003, with one mentioning an outline of a naked woman.

 

Filed in South Florida’s federal court, the lawsuit accuses the Wall Street Journal of libel, assault, and slander. While details are sparse, Trump has firmly denied writing the letter, and no lawsuit copy was included in the court docket.

 

Trump immediately threatened the story's authors, Khadeeja Safdar and Joe Palazzolo, with legal action. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claims Rupert Murdoch, the owner of News Corp, which owns the Journal, was personally warned about the letter’s alleged fabrications.

 

Murdoch reportedly assured Trump that he would resolve the issue, but according to the lawsuit, such assurances proved ineffective. CNN is seeking a response from the Wall Street Journal regarding the allegations.

 

Epstein's connections, including his interactions with Trump, have faced growing public interest. Despite Epstein's death in 2019 being ruled a suicide, questions and conspiracy theories persist, with Trump expressing a willingness to disclose further details if elected in 2024.

 

A recent Justice Department memo denied the existence of a so-called "client list" linked to Epstein’s alleged crimes, a point that has frustrated Trump’s supporters and stirred division within his political base. Such revelations continue to underscore the complexity of Epstein’s legacy and the controversies surrounding those who knew him.

This is a dangerous bluff. There is no way on gawd's green earth Rupert Murdoch didn't have the article describing the birthday letter screened by their attorneys with a fine tooth comb. All this will do is force the issue to the point that all Epstein information will have to be released, exposing many people in, shall we say, an unflattering light?

 

What this has done to the MAGA base is caused severe cognative dissonance - the state of discomfort felt when two or more modes of thought contradict each other. MAGA was promised for nearly 10 years that the Epstein cabal would finally be revealed, only to find they've been lied to. This was a primary foundation that 47 ran on and now MAGA loyalists feel betrayed. Numerous videos out there showing them burning their red hats out of anger.

 

The good news - there is hope for the MAGA loyalists who are finally realizing 47's superpower has been the ability to lie and get away with it, and are finally fed up with it. Two very big risks for Trump.

 

The first is the ‘Disclosure’ process, and be assured Murdoch has both legal and business interest in obtaining ‘Disclosure’.

 

The second, and perhaps more dangerous issue is the fact Murdoch makes money from the news. 

He’ll turn on Trump the moment there’s more ratings in negative news about Trump.

I'm waiting for Murdochland to publish pics/video of January 6th.

Fox does not show that, so many of the Fox/MAGA faithful have never seen them.  Fox's coverage of the Jan 6 committee was heavily edited, even when the images were projected in the House chamber Fox blurred out that part of the screen.

I won't buy into this break between the Murdochs and DT until they put out the images.  It would mean they are no longer covering for him.
