WatersEdge
In Mae Sot, Tak province, Rice Bran is about B2.00 per kg less than the market report. for the good quality that will cake in your squeezed fist. One mill sells a very fine grade for around B2 more than market report. http://www.dit.go.th/diteng/image/hi_4.pdf Right now market is B9.50, so I'd expect to pay B7.50 for the good stuff. Haven't bought any in several months, because Corn Screenings and Mung Bean culls were a much better value. Poor Quality with a lot of hull mixed in is steadily about B3 / kg, but in my opinion it's not worth the trouble to handle Pardon me for repeating what I've said earlier, Rice Bran is very high in Phosphorous 1.7%, so you must provide a surplus of Calcium to make proper use of it. I maintain a small pile of Limestone dust, grit, chips in the pig corral, and they eat it regularly. Excessive Phosphorous without a balance of Calcium will cause Osteoporisis and Kidney stones. Fish extract minerals dissolved in Water, so make sure your water has plenty of lime content. I throw buckets of the same limestone fines into the fish pond. Calcium Hydroxide will serve the purpose in a more concentrated form, but it's easy to apply too much, and it's more expensive. I figured out the ratio once to match 1.7%P in Rice Bran. Right amount was 500 grams Ca(OH)2 Calcium Hydroxide in 25 kg Rice Bran. Now I just give the pigs free choice Limestone
