I'm one of the realists mentioned above. Every time I head back to Thailand I tell myself that I will not let it get me down but it does. I can find almost nothing positive about Thailand anymore. I feel sorry for my wife because I complain way to much.

If you are so unhappy, why do you stay ?

Your wife must be very unhappy to live with someone so miserable, if I was as miserable here as you obviously are I'd be out of here in a heartbeat.

If you came on this Forum complaining about how your wife ran off with a Thai guy, I could fully understand her actions, you must make her life a total misery.

Presumably he doesn't 'stay' as he talks about 'every time I come back'.

I assume he comes back because he has a wife here, but he needs to provide more info for us to realise where he's 'coming from'.

I don't live in Pattaya.

Then move, I don't see anything remotely like what you describe, go somewhere else if you hate it so much. If you're allowed to of course

As long as I can sleep with a woman half my age I don't really give a stuff about anything else in the country.

I can only guess that the foreigners not liking Thailand can no longer get it up (am I allowed to say that?)

Although I reserve the right as a British citizen to winge and whine about anything I feel like on TV.

Yes, but you're in a minority. Most Westerners are looking for someone half their age that actually loves them - and become extremely disillusioned when they realise this is not the case, its all about money

Like, that's ever going to happen!

and

Western women don't suck, that's part of the problem.

Try this: repeat to yourself, "Every day, in every way, things are getting better and better."

.

Or the ThaiVisa Mantra, every day, in every way things are getting worse and worse

Speaking of which. Mentioned the chaos in the middle east to an old Thai friend this evening and he said he'd been watching it and said it will probably be Thailand next.

Not being negative or anything, just mentioning fact.

So you'll be leaving soon ?

I hazard a guess that it's the UK, frightening to say the least..

I have lived outside the UK for 20 years, the UK has some great things going for it if you're an immigrant, other than that it sucks. Do you know that even though I paid tax for 20 years, if I have stayed out of UK for a certain period of time, I am entitled to zero, yet if I'm from Estonia, they must house me and my Family and give me money every month, even though I or any member of my Family has never paid anything into the system. Go figure

True MJP, no matter what you have paid, they'll still screw you over, I was out of UK for 13 years and couldn't get a thing, my friend came into the UK after 9 years, got caught smuggling and was rewarded with the full package.

He got a 6 Months prison sentence, ( it means 3 months ), 1 month in Wormwood Scrubs, the rest in a Cat D, in fact he went to HMP FORD, more like a holiday camp than a prison.biggrin.gif

After that he was in the system and totally protected.

I couldn't take the social injustice of the place, supporting all those cretins. So I left.

At least here I can afford a house for our kid and go to Makro and live on about the same as council tax each month, it's alright here to be honest, once the typical nonsense settles down.

The premise of this thread is in and of itself negative and I was therefore avoiding it until now, I wish I had continued to do so  ..

Hmm seems to me the thread was DOA. Brings to mind the famous quote from Snowy/Milou

"Tintin! Are you dead? Say yes or no but answer me!"

Did you also pay NI Contributions? along with your Taxes?

if so?you will be entitled to a reduced Pension, now that the qualifying years have been reduced to 30 years, instead of 44 years.

At the age of 65,whether residing in the UK or Thailand, you will be entitled to a 2 thirds Pension, assuming you are at the relevant age now,to retire at 65,and not 67.

Suggest you apply for a Pension Forecast from Newcastle.

Negative attitude, begone from you!

Can't do that today. I heard the bars are all closed today. Better you come on over to my place and have a beer here. There's more than enough pretty girls to go around. :D

you really do make my skin crawl.

And if they behave really well Ian will even remove the mouth gags and untie them. :D
