The beach at Hua Hin is better than Jomtien in Pattaya. No many people.

Mostly, no plastic bottles and debris to mark the water line.

The water can get murky, nothing like Koh Samui.

Long and nice to walk. A few stray dogs around make shift "restaurants" that, surprisingly, offer very good food.

In short, I liked it there.

Nice beach - though not exactly the palm-fringed postcard stereotype and the water's rarely clear. Watch out for the submerged rocks near the main beach entrance (in front of Sofitel) otherwise it's very safe. Loved it in the evenings when many Thai would take some food and drink down to the beach for a happy time. Also loved walking south along the beach to a cove with a large standing Buddha and Chinese shrine - you pass a lot of nice houses on the way; just be careful swimming at that end - the currents are ferocious.
