Dead Snake.....Which Type ?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I was just wondering what type of snake this was. I found it in Hua Hin on a road near the beach. Looks like it had been run over by a car.

Cheers.

looks like It is or was a Chrysopelea_Ornata or Ornate Paradise Tree Snake, sometimes called a Golden Tree Snake, Ornate Flying Snake or Golden Flying Snake.

Thank you for the replies. I assume the snake must have fallen out of the tree next to the road just as a car was passing. Poor thing.

Cheers.

and relatively harmless and beautiful

It's hard to tell for sure from that photo, but it looks like it might be a Malayan Pit Viper which is a very poisonous snake responsible for more bites in south Asia than any other snake.

Wrong.

The snake that phillies is asking about is a brown kukri snake. My dogs killed one last week.
