For a Thai National what are the advantages under the Social Security Scheme that they pay for when in employment.

As against the free hospital treatment every Thai is entitled to.

My Wife says it is the same. Logic tells me it can't be.

Pension or lump sum when they retire - what they have paid x 3 - same by employer and government.

Up to 500 baht for dental treatment.

300 baht a month for each child under 6.

help with child's education etc

- 15000 baht after the birth of each child born when you have paid in 7 months.

- unemployment benefits when you leave your job.

- ability to be registered at participating hospitals (both state and some private) to get free or highly discounted medical care.
