Thai For Beginners By Benjawan Poomsan

Featured Replies

I'v finished using the book "Thai for beginners" by Benjawan Poomsan and I was wondering if anybody has taken the time to type up all the exercises or knows where I could download the exercises. I've already completed these in the book but now I want to review the lessons (without the answers). Any exercise sheets floating around out there? Thanks in advance for any advice. Best regards.

There are two Thai for Beginners products that will quiz what you learned.

One is the software and the other is an app for the iPhone, iPod and and iTouch.

They have the same information.

Thanks for those links! Very helpful :)

There are Becker Thai for Beginners downloadable Anki cards somebody made at the Anki site.

I did not download them and check them out, but apparently they made 714 cards from the

beginner course.

I tried using Anki, but, although I've read a lot of positive things about it on here, I couldn't really get on with it to be honest. It didn't seem intuitive for me to use. Maybe I had an old version or something. :)

I'm not a fan of Anki either (clunky). I put my stuff in BYKI when I have the time (nicely designed - more options for learning).

I tried out Benjawan's iPhone app (she sent me a handful to give away). It's simple and does what it needs to do.

I tried out the software version early on but as it runs on a PC, I didn't bother much with it (a product has to blow me away to get me to run an emulator on my Mac).

The basic idea for the app is effective and will work for intermediate to advanced.

Fingers crossed they have the time to develop them soon.

The best book I've seen for learning how to read Thai.
