'The King's Speech' wins Best Picture in 83rd Academy Awards

HOLLYWOOD (BNO NEWS) -- 'The King's Speech' on Sunday was awarded an Oscar for Best Picture in the 83rd Academy Awards.

The ceremony took place in Hollywood's Kodak Theatre and was co-hosted by James Franco and Anne Hatheway.

With a total of twelve nominations, Tom Hooper's 'The King's Speech' was the big winner, which was also awarded with Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, while Colin Firth won the award for Best Actor.

Natalie Portman was awarded with an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Darren Aranofsky's 'Black Swan.' Meanwhile, 2010's highest grossing film, 'Toy Story 3,' won Best Animated Film and Best Original Song for 'We Belong Together' by Randy Newman.

The Best Cinematography award went to Wally Pfister for 'Inception' - which received a total of four awards - and Best Costume Design went to Colleen Atwood for 'Alice in Wonderland.'
