Etihad Man -Bkk

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have booked with Etihad on a 777 and they have assigned me seats near the back and they say I am in a seat with nobody next to me.

I thought this strange but when I checked the seat plan there are in fact no B or J (Middle seats) in the last five rows.

I tried to post a link to the seatmap but failed ( you can only get it on Etihads website if you go in as if you are booking a flight)

Can anyone shed any light on this for me ? seems like a strange set up.

Thanks.

In my experience the planes get narrower towards the back and sometimes there are less seats.

A good place to look up the seats on your tickets is : http://www.seatguru.com/ - I think that's the site I've used in the past.

It's worth noting that on some airlines on some routes the very back seats don't recline, I've only noticed this on shorter regional flights though.

Last time I traveled with Etihad from Manchester it was deserted I managed to get 4 seats together at the back, inbound and outbound

Abu Dhabi to bkk was rammed though, take advantage on the 1st leg and get yer head down

On many 777s the last few rows only have two seats rather than three. They might be slightly offset but not so as you'd notice. There's also the benefit that there's more room between the edge of your seat and the body of the aircraft - enough to stick your cabin baggage down. This can be a problem if you're using to leaning against it to sleep.

I have access to expertflyer.com and EY21 AUH-MAN seat map shows rows 51 to 55 in a 2,4,2 configuration (no B and J seats) whilst unfortunately Etihad's B777/300ER have a 3,4,3 configuration whilst most if not all airliners fly in a 3,3,3 config on a B777/300ER.

Also note beyond rows 55 you will find 3 toilets and a service galery.

Now if the OP would post more precise information on his flight like flight number and date we could provide this information easier and exact seat occupation also.

So he asks information and others need to do some research to find the exact aircraft configuration whilst not all days in the week airlines fly with exactly the same equipment :ermm:

No we don't need to do more research. We're offering our personal experiences. As you say if the OP wants specific information for a specific flight then it's up to him to provide the info in the first place.

Maybe I did not explain well enough,

I have seen the seating plan ( on Etihad and checkmytrip websites) and it is not the same as on seatguru, seatplans etc.

There is a 3-4-3 seat set up but the last 5 rows on either side have a window seat and an aisle seat but no middle seat , I have never seen this before and have flown umpteen times on 777's.

I just do not understand why there is a gap in the middle.

Thanks for all your replies.

Sorry , I forget to add that I did call Etihad and the person I spoke to said that there was in fact no middle seat but I am not sure if He was just going by the seat map or had first hand experience.

The last rows have 2 seats either side of 4 in the middle. Me and my girlfriend normally book the two window seats because you get more room.

That does sound a bit weird. Let us know how you get on after you've flown.

So you don't know you need from/to, airline, flight number, date to find the correct seat config for that given flight?

Even then airlines change last minute equipment and if that happens checkmytrip or expertflyer won't be of any use.

Your personal experience is worth nothing if you flew a different config :whistling:

Because of the shape of the aircraft no doubt...

That's right. I don't need to know anything. It's the OP who's looking for information. If he wants answers to his questions he needs to provide airline, flight numbers blah blah blah so we can answer his questions.
