teletiger
The cheapest flight I could find from Bangkok to Koh Samui was 5500 Baht with Nok air. What happened to all the cheap deals? Regards.
smokie36
http://booking.airasia.com/Select.aspx For example. Direct flight with Bangkok Airways more like 10k Baht.
tw25rw
The Nok flight includes surface transfer to Samui from Surat.
H2oDunc
You are not actually flying to Samui with Nok air. They fly you to Surat Thani then the bus to Donsak and then the high speed catamaran to Samui as far as I know
Tropicalevo
Sadly cheap flights to Samui are a thing of the past. Bangkok Airways and the Hotels have decided that they do not need ordinary people here - just rich ones! There is a saying here on the island. "It's easy to make a small fortune on Samui - just bring a large one!" Edited March 2, 2011 by Tropicalevo
theoldgit
http://booking.airasia.com/Select.aspx For example. Direct flight with Bangkok Airways more like 10k Baht. Didn't think Air Asia flew to Samui, have I missed something?

Didn't think Air Asia flew to Samui, have I missed something? No they fly to Surat Thani.....bus and ferry from there. All I was trying to show is the usual fare each way is 1100 Baht.....considerably cheaper than the Nok Air fare of 5000 Baht even with transfers included. Still a three hour nuisance to/from Surat to Samui. Edited March 2, 2011 by smokie36
theoldgit
^^^^ Cheers, thought I had missed something. I understand one the things that keep the prices so high for direct flights is that Bangkok Airways own the airport and as such can dictate the landing fees. tw25rw
I went by Nok via Surat last year. I vowed afterwards that if I ever went back, I would fork out and fly direct as it was such a crap journey. I thought Samui was not that great anyway, so probably won't go back..
lazygourmet
I tried this new Lomprayah (flight+cat) service last weekend... But, I would not recommend it to anyone who is -like I was- on a rush...
