THAI launches new mobile, online services

BANGKOK, 3 March 2011 (NNT) – Thai Airways International (THAI) Plc has launched new mobile and online services to provide passengers with easier access to its information.

According to THAI President Piyasvasti Amranand, the new facilities will be provided via the E&M service. Customers can use internet browsers on their mobile phone to get flight information from http://m.thaiairways.com.

Customers may enquire flight information by texting 451-4455, and the system will send back information to mobile phones. The new services are expected to increase online air ticket purchase and online check-in from 8.7% to 12% this year.

In addition, THAI has also upgraded its website www.thaiairways.com, with newly improved features for passengers such as internet check-in and home print boarding pass. First-class passengers can also request special meals.

THAI is also working closely with the Airports of Thailand and SITA, the specialist in air transport communications and IT solutions to develop electronic air tickets on mobile phone, which is expected to run its trial phase very soon.
