March 4, 201115 yr falang looking to play football in khon kaen area...any suggestions? also,do khon kaen fc of thai premier league fame, actually play in kk?heard it may be maha sarakam.
March 5, 201115 yr It would seem that Khon Kaen's stadium has been deemed unfit for Premier league games. They will start,at least, their campaign this year at Maha Sarakham.
March 5, 201115 yr Well once again bureaucrats kill hard work potential, RIP KKfc , I was looking on the net and the place they will have to play is around 75 to 85 km out of Khonkaen , I can't see the supporters travelling that far myself . I am more than a little p*ssed off at this news as have been following the progress of the T-Rex over the last few years and this year will be moving to Issaan . I was looking forward to going to support them along with a few ferang mates but will now not be able to go as it will mean a round trip of well over 250km as our village is some 55 km from the Khonkaen stadium. By moving the team they will not generate any income to improve the stadium facilities and therefore KK fc will become Maha Sakram FC and all those fans from KK will be left without a team and the team will get less support from a smaller catchment area. The Thai PL should get a grip , its not like they are hosting Liverpool or Man utd , Asenal etc,. The facilities I am sure would be fine for the moment and the extra support would have created extra income to help develop the club, by moving it they will destroy it just like the English FA did by moving Wimbledon FC to Milton Keynes. I saw this happen a few years ago to my local RL club who won their division and promotion to the Super league but were not allowed in due to their stadium being small,it ruined them and they are now languishing 2 divisions down and struggling for survival.
March 6, 201115 yr If you are anygood then there is only one place for you to strut your stuff and thats in Buriram with either Buriram FC or if you have a touch of class then Buriram PEA. Buriram PEA are playing Khon Kaen this coming weekend.
March 7, 201115 yr It would seem that Khon Kaen's stadium has been deemed unfit for Premier league games. They will start,at least, their campaign this year at Maha Sarakham. They are unlucky in that the Thai Premier League actually enforces standards. Pretty unique for Thailand. To be fair they were forced to adopt 'real' standards in order to compete in the Asian equivalent of the European Champions League after being barred or threatened with barring. Not sure which.
March 9, 201115 yr I just rode on my motor bike this AM -- 6 AM Makro run -- by the KK Football stadium and the entire playing field has been dug up as if they starting a re-turf / re-sod operation ... so maybe the 'standards' mentioned above are to the playing field itself. If there are persons of sufficient interest I could go by the stadium again later today and take some pictures for posting ... this from a Yank.
March 9, 201115 yr had a quick look on the net for some info and found the following (was actually trying to find out where in Sarakham they are playing lol, might pop over to a game or two) http://www.thai-fussball.de/en/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=21 Sounds like the upgrade is actually because of another event which is being held in Khon Kaen, as opposed to just being for KK going into the premier league. Either way, if the estimate is correct (It's an old article tho, so I doubt it's timing will be accurate) then they'll only be playing in Sarakham until the end of April, as renovations were expected to be finished by then. Oh yeah, roughly where is the stadium in Sarakham? (Assume there's a songtaew which goes near it? might pop over to the game on Sunday for a look, are you usually sweet to buy them at the gate? or do they often sell out?)

Coming into Mahasarakham from Khon Kaen on Highway 208, cross the ring road and then turn right into the Sports College (think you can see the floodlights). If you see the Rajabhat and MSU you have gone too far. Coming from town you would have to ask for the sports college - perhaps two kilometres from the bus station. probably the KK via Kosum Pisai bus stops right outside. Mahasarakham City's ground is a much less developed stadium than the one in Khon Kaen. How did Bangkok FC survive that cup tie? Edited March 9, 201115 yr by citizen33
