coldcrush
Hiya All A question relating to Registration of childs birth. Do you have to register with the British Embassy a child before you gain a British passport, as it states on the British Embassy Bangkok Birth Reg site you do not have to? A little misguided on that. It seems that you would need to register to get a British passport so my child can comeback to the UK? However if you do not need to can you apply for a childs passport with a Birth Certificate alone? ie. Thai translated birth certificate with father mothers name on. Thanks all
The_Eye_Of_Sauron
Don't have to register before getting the passport for Little One. Thai Birth Cert has to be translated and stamped.
the scouser
It is, however, beneficial to register the birth at the embassy, as you will then get a UK-style birth certificate which saves having to convince the authorities in the UK that the Thai one is the real McCoy. Scouse.
