New Atm Withdrawel Limit

Featured Replies

My bank has told me that',for security reasons, it has put a limit of 100 euros on a.t.m's that don't have chip and pin technology.

Thus is a really small sum and the A.E.O.N machine that i uasually use doesn't have it.Neither do any of the other machines i tried.

So now .....whats the new best way to get my monthly euros ....

Before,it was A.E.O.N as they didn't chargr for an foreign account.

any ideas on what a.t.m machines have chip and pin technology or any other advice welcome

did you call the bank and explain the situation? Worst case have them send you another card. If they need to send it to your home then have somebody stick it in a birthday card and mail it here.

atm machine that reads modern chip....

would show a gold colored chip on the keypunch panel....

bkk banks and others do offer customers a choice of....

having a chipped or non-chipped atm cards, or both....

we have both chip embedded cards and the plain ones for convenience....

many atm machines still do not accept chip embedded cards.... ;)

Allied Irish bank in Ireland have been doing this since February 18th and did not even have the courtesy to inform thier customers of the situation. I am not a customer of thiers, but as far as I know there is nothing they will do for thier customers. So the answer is as simple as change your bank if this is possible for you. Kindest Regards.

Most like they are already aware of the higher fees their account holders will incur (both from them and from the That banks) from having to make more transactions and have already decided that's just fine.

Yes...A.I.B won't do any thing to help.

It's a new policy for certain countries including Thailand and the U.S.

I would change my bank if Iwas at home.

I thought it was bad enough when the brought it down to 250 euros

a few months ago.

I will have to see how expensive it is getting money over the counter

if you can still do that.

Some one said B.k.k banks.......what does B.K.K. stand for.

Thanks for all the prompt returns...

Just last Friday, through a Bkk Bk manager, there was a six figure withdrawal from one of my overseas cc....

There was no problem that I was aware of.... to date....

The fees include 2%.... very detestable as far as I am concerned....

A 10 euro fee is just about right for a simple transaction like this.... especially when a person is withdrawing from his own cash acct.... :bah:
