JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) -- Philippine President Benigno Aquino will be traveling to Indonesia on an official visit from Monday to Wednesday, in hope to strengthen the countries' bilateral relations, officials said Sunday.

Presidential spokesman Teuku Faizasyah said Aquino, who is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Monday, would be meeting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday, when both leaders would witness the signing of memorandum of understandings on education cooperation, sport cooperation and on police cooperation.

Aquino and Yudhoyono are also expected to discuss several issues such as disaster mitigation, terrorism, fisheries cooperation, media, and the Spratly Islands situation, which are a group of islands in the South China Sea. The islands are being disputed by the Philippines, as well as Vietnam, China, Malysia, and Brunei.
