jackliveswhere
G'Day, Not sure if this will be the right forum so if its not, feel free to move it. I have two friends, an Australian guy & an Indonesia woman. They wish to get married but due to 'family issues' they do not want to do it in Indonesia. Can anyone tell me the address of the marriage registrar & the required documents to complete this in Bangkok so I can pass the information on to them? Scott. lopburi3
You register a marriage at any district office in Thailand and all foreigners will require a letter from there Embassy that has been translated into Thai and registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (a simple process for most but perhaps not for lady from Indonesia). She would have to check with her Embassy. It is impossible to do without the Embassy documents. Most Embassies clearly outline the process on there web sites. zulugutt
Since neither of them are Thai citizens, they most likely could marry in both the Australian and Indonesian Embassy as well. Edited March 8, 2011 by zulugutt
