If you are in australia write your sponsor letter as a statutory declaration.

In your statutory declaration refer to each section as attachment "A" "B" etc.

Mark each seperate section(each storey) as an attachment eg: "A" "B" etc. Mark it on the top of the attachment.

Take it to a JP.

Make sure you use a commonwealth stat dec. It have "oaths act 1959" on it.

Introduce sponsor and applicant; with a brief history of the relationship to date.

Clarify or expand upon any answers on the application form you feel require it.

List the supporting documents, with any expansion/clarification you feel may be necessary.

Finish with any further points you want the ECO to consider which are not covered elsewhere.

Keep it short and simple. You don't want the ECO to miss something important because they could not be bothered, or to be fair haven't the time, to read a letter the length of a novel!

For the UK there is no need to make a statutory declaration of have it notarised etc.

I've amended the topic title to show UK.
