traveltim
I am wondering how many tourists/farang are in Nong Khai in early June- should I arrange accommodation beforehand or is it better to just show up and ask about availability? I am looking at Baan Mae Rim Guesthouse or Esan Guesthouse. Can anybody comment on these two places? Many thanks for your input!

montrii
There will be lots of rooms in June. I was there just last week, and there were lots of rooms even then. Had my pick of many, many places, including those. Ended up staying at Sawatdee Guest House ("สวัสดี," might be spelled "Sawasdee" or some other variation in English, can't remember), it's a converted Chinese godown a short block from the river, a lot of charm. Prajak
A few months ago I mentioned new hotels here; look back in this forum please. June has hot weather and rains and it is no tourist season. Plenty room to find.
