90 Day Notification

Featured Replies

I have just received m new "Receipt of Notification" from the Immigration Bureau after having sent it in by mail.

Stamped on the receipt it says" The fine of Overdue Notification is not exceeding 5,000 Baht".

Is that the new rate? I am sure it used to be 2000 Baht?

We have to be even more alert now.

Any other "fines" or "services" increasing in cost?

HEY !! (as a thai might say); “Come on man”!!

There are SUPER clear signs in engirsh and in THAI too at Changwattana Immigrations which says "You (as a foreigner) CAN be fined up to but not exceeding 5000baht.

Piss 'em off, it can and WILL be 5000baht I guarantee that! Don't piss 'em off and it'll be the 2000baht fine for 40 days or 40 years! However even if your a day late (after the week’s grace period) it’s still a 2000baht fine. That is just how it is.

Sadly, around my area (Lumpini) NO one is checking AT ALL! Maybe at Ekami they might, but not around here on Lower Sukhumvit Road!!

I wish with all my heart, there was a reward for turning in foreigners for late reporting or people on overstay, as I'd be a Billionaire here for ratting ‘em out! There's just NO real money in it, or believe me 100%, I'd do it!

The Rules are your tools. Color 'inside the lines' here and you'll be FINE. Take some creative license with your crayons well, who knows how it will pan out for you.

Still I wish you good luck, huh?

Thanks for the info.

I have never been late so far as I always send by post to the immigration. I've just never noticed the 5000 baht before.

Quite a few people I know can't be bothered going through the motions of renewing and just pay the fine at the airport.

Fines at airport are for overstay - not for late 90 day reporting. As said in post by TD the max fine has been 5k (plus 200 baht per day [if not immediately paid?]) for a few years now but the normal fine is 2k.

I've never been fined at the airport. Immigration don't check to see if you reported. So if I am making a trip overseas within three months of my retirement visa I never bother to report.

More than once i never bothered reporting after 90 and flew out and they never questioned it.

Last few times i have taken out the report form to see if they would ask about it and never have.

Not to say u shouldn't rpeort but if u miss it......
