September 17, 200520 yr How about this idea for teachers out there. Provide your students with a template and let them create a pinwheel that reflects on one side of their thoughts about war and peace, tolerance, bulling, living in harmony with others… Assemble the pinwheels and “plant” them outside on International World Peace Day, September 21st. The pinwheel display can serve as a public reminder?...
September 18, 200520 yr How about dropping them from planes over Iraq? I am sure the gesture will be appreciated. I am all for peace, but maybe it'd be a better idea to have kids write an essay, and give a prize to the most eloquent and constructive ones.

Keywords (from education-world.com) peace, pinwheels for peace, International World Peace Day, and most of all spelling. P.S.S. I have one for you all:- To Kan
September 21, 200520 yr This 'whirled peace' thing actually started as a New Age idea(back in the 80's or 90's was it?)....the new agers believed that if enough people visuallized something that it would happen...so they started telling everyone to imagine 'world peace'.....then some hippy pranksters made some bumper stickers that said 'visualize whirled peas'....as a joke('whirled peas' sounds like 'world peace' sort of)......but an unintended consequence of the joke was that it reminded people of 'world peace' so it actually helped accomplish what the new agers had intended....that's why the world is such a peaceful place today!!!!!!!! So this 'whirled peace' is sort of a not so imaginative (in my opinion) reincarnation of the 'whirled peas' thing.
