Hi just one quick question here.. Applying for a second tourist visa do I need to send the exact same paperwork as before or just updated phone call email contact etc and of course 6 month recent bank statements as apart from these they kept all the other paperwork so I understand they may be holding a file record of our first time anyway

You need to do everything again. Plus, add any updated infomation in your sponsorship letter, eg. how long your friend/partner/whoever was there, what you did, why he/she is going again now, latest bank statements. You haven't said when the last visit took place, and how long it was for, but be aware that the guidance is not to stay in UK for more than six months in any 12 months

Thanks for that.. She came for 10 weeks at Xmas till end of feb now we would both like a lot longer in the summer. Was hoping for 6 months but now realise have to do 6 months in one year..

Just one point, the longer she spends in the UK, 10 weeks over Christmas and now wants to spend longer in the summer, the more difficult it is to convince the ECO of her reasons to return to her home at the end of her trip. What did she say in her original application? Does she have a job in Thailand? She will need to convince the ECO that she is not using the tourist visa route to spend a disproportionate time in the UK.

She works as a Market trader part time selling clothes and also works the family owned small restaurant with her sisters this doesn't make a lot of profit but enables to feed rthe whole family of 8 people.. I intend on marrying her next year so will be applying for the spouse or settlement visa then just thought it was better to do 2 tourist visas before hand.. Maybe I should just try and aim for 4 months for this 2nd time so not to cause problems with ECO or if I state my future intentions do you think we will have a chance for 6 months I'm not sure.. Thanks for your last reply

As the OG says, she will need to convince the ECO that she is not attempting to use visit visas to bypass the settlement rules.

Explain why she is visiting again and why she wants/needs to spend so long in the UK. Fully explain what your future plans together are.
